Which Toschi Syrups and Sauces Are Vegan, Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free

Three questions come up constantly from cafés building a plant-based or allergen-aware menu: is it vegan, is it gluten-free, and does it contain nuts. Toschi answers all three on its own product pages, using badges that turn out to be genuinely reliable. We went through all 53 products we stock and compiled the answers.

The headline numbers

  • All 53 Toschi products we stock carry Toschi's Gluten free badge.
  • 42 of the 43 1L syrups carry the Vegan badge.
  • Only 2 of the 43 syrups contain nuts — Almond Milk and Orgeat, both almond.
  • 6 products in total contain dairy, egg or nuts. Every one is listed below.

Why we trust the vegan badge

Badges on manufacturer sites are often decorative. Toschi's is not. We checked it against the ingredient list on every product, and it behaves exactly as it should: it appears on the plain sugar-and-fruit products and disappears on every single product containing dairy or egg. Toschi's “no artificial colourings” badge is equally consistent — it vanishes precisely where E133 or caramel colour appears in the list.

A badge that is internally consistent across 234 product pages is a badge you can work from.

The six products that contain dairy, egg or nuts

Product Contains From which ingredient
Almond Milk Syrup 1L Nuts Almonds (10%)
Orgeat Syrup 1L Nuts Flavourings containing almond
Caramel Sauce 2KG Milk Cream, butter
White Chocolate Sauce 2KG Milk Sweetened condensed milk
Tiramisu Sauce 1KG Egg, wine Sweetened egg yolk (25%), Moscato wine
Zabaione Toppings 900g Egg, milk, wine Sweetened egg yolk, condensed milk, Moscato wine

Everything else in the range — all 41 remaining syrups, the Chocolate Barista Sauce, and the Blueberry, Strawberry, Mango, Dark Chocolate and Wild Fruits toppings — contains none of the three.

The sauces and toppings, one by one

This is where it actually varies, so here is the full list:

Product Vegan-badged
Chocolate Sauce 2KG Yes
Blueberry Sauce 1KG Yes
Strawberry Sauce 1KG Yes
Mango Sauce 900g Yes
Dark Chocolate Sauce 900g Yes
Wild Fruits Toppings 1KG Yes
Caramel Sauce 2KG No — contains milk
White Chocolate Sauce 2KG No — contains milk
Tiramisu Sauce 1KG No — contains egg
Zabaione Toppings 900g No — contains egg and milk

Worth pulling out: the Dark Chocolate Topping and the Chocolate Barista Sauce are both vegan-badged. If you need a chocolate sauce for a plant-based menu, you have two real options, and the Dark Chocolate is 24.4% chocolate powder.

The one syrup we won't call vegan

Honey Syrup 1L is the single syrup in the range without a Vegan badge — and its published ingredients are sugar, water, citric acid and flavourings. Nothing animal-derived. There is also no honey in it.

So either the badge is missing in error, or the ingredient list is incomplete. We do not know which, and we are not going to guess on a product where the answer decides whether a vegan customer can drink it. Until Toschi confirms, we describe Honey Syrup as neither vegan nor honey-containing. If you need a definitive answer for a menu, ask us and we will put it to the manufacturer in writing.

Gluten-free — the whole range

Every one of the 53 products carries the gluten-free badge, including the ones with wine and egg in them. That is unusual and genuinely useful: it means gluten is simply not a variable you have to track across the Toschi range.

Halal and kosher — read this carefully

Toschi holds a substantial list of certifications: Kosher (Parve), Halal HQC, Halal Global, Vegan OK, ISO 9001:2015, IFS at Higher Level, BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, and Organic.

Those are held at company and plant level, not per product. That is a real distinction and it matters here, where halal certification is often a purchasing requirement rather than a preference.

We are not putting a halal or kosher claim on an individual product page without a certificate that names that product. If you need certified halal status for a specific SKU, tell us which one and we will request the document from Toschi. An honest “let me get you the certificate” is worth more to your business than a badge we cannot stand behind — particularly since two products in the range contain Moscato wine.

What is still missing

Toschi publishes ingredients and nutrition, but not a formal allergen declaration, and nothing about shared production lines. So an ingredient's absence from a list is not a cross-contact clearance.

Use this guide to answer what is in it and to build a menu. For a customer with a diagnosed allergy, the label on the physical bottle is the authority, and we will chase the manufacturer for anything it does not tell you.

Full ingredients, nutrition and dietary information are on every individual Toschi product page on this site.
